Sermons
In many traditions, the Sermon is the focal point of the worship service. In the Episcopal Church, the Eucharist, what many may call the Lord's Supper or Communion, is the core of our worship. That does not mean that the Sermon, which is part of the Liturgy of the Word, is not important. The Sermon normally follows scripture readings from the Old and New Testaments and functions as a way for the preacher to help focus our thinking on the readings and to find ways to apply them to our lives.
We are fortunate to have insightful and strong preachers among our clergy and within our congregation. Our clergy each bring the diversity of their own lives, education, and theological insight. We are also fortunate to have guests preachers from time to time who are outstanding orators in their own spheres.
