Adult Formation Facilitators

The Rev. Ted Clarkson

Fr. Ted Clarkson is a life-long Episcopalian and the newest member of the clergy at Transfiguration. Prior to being our curate, Fr. Ted graduated from Southern Methodist University with an undergraduate degree in music and the University of the South, Sewanee with a Master of Divinity. Before ordination, he was an instructor for The Way at Transfiguration and the Director of Children and Youth Ministries at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Fort Worth. Fr. Ted believes that all Christians are called to grow in the knowledge and love of the Lord, and he is excited to share his knowledge and love with you as our Director of Christian Formation.

The Rev. Nancy DeStefano

Pastor Nancy was ordained in June, 2010 in the United Methodist Church. In retirement, she serves at Transfiguration as Pastoral Assistant, overseeing the older adult ministry, racial justice ministry, and Stephen Ministry. Pastor Nancy also offers pastoral counseling, spiritual direction and grief counseling to anyone who would like to speak with her. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a certified spiritual director, an educator, a certified sage-ing leader and a life coach. Nancy and Ed have three grown children and seven grandchildren who are the great joys of their lives.

Al Blackwell

Having grown up in the Methodist Church, Al discovered the Episcopal Church at age 16 and has been a member ever since. He holds a B.A. degree in English Education, enjoyed three years as a High School English Teacher. He spent the remainder of his career focused on Corporate Training and Leadership Development with American Express, American Airlines, Sabre, and Match. He has read extensively in the areas of Scripture, History, Liturgy, and Religious Studies; most recently completing a continuing eduction course in Religious Literacy – Traditions and Scripture. During his 8 years at Transfiguration, Al has worked with the Holy Family Bhutanese Congregation, served as a Eucharistic Visitor, and assisted with the formation of the Second-Half ministry. He was a participant in Disciple I and co-taught Disciple II with Pastor Nancy.

Youth Formation Facilitators

Delynda Moravec

Director of Youth Ministries

Delynda has been a member of the parish for 15 years. She has worn many hats including directing the annual Christmas pageant, singing in the Transfiguration Choir, ringing in Bella Musica, and serving as a Godly Play teacher and youth group facilitator. She is a certified Godly play teacher, a Poetic Medicine Facilitator, and a practitioner of Holy Listening Stones. Delynda is studying for a Certificate in Professional Ministry in Faith Formation at Perkins School of Theology and serves as a Chaplain at Children’s Medical Center.

The Fig Youth are served by a number of experienced and thoughtful adult leaders. These volunteer leaders bring a variety of life, educational, and faith experience to our youth:

Children’s Formation Facilitators

Allison Blalock

Director of Children’s Ministries

Allison is a life-long Episcopalian and the daughter of a retired Episcopal priest. She has a degree in elementary education and a lifetime of experience in forming and educating children. Prior to coming to Transfiguration, Allison served as Program Director for the Child Development Center at First United Methodist Church in Richardson. Her skills, attitude, and faith are impressive and she is bringing excitement and energy to our thriving children’s ministry.

Our Godly Play Team

The children of the Fig are blessed with a dedicated team of volunteer teachers who prepare our Montessori based curriculum each week. Children are given the opportunity to wonder freely and grow their faith in a nurturing space with our amazing Godly Play team.
