The 10th season of Transfigured Nights begins on Sunday, September 15, at 5:00 p.m., with a Choral Evensong in celebration of the founding day of the parish – the Feast of the Holy Cross. The Transfiguration Choir will sing music from its recently-completed tour of English cathedrals and churches, including Joel Martinson’s Evening Service for the Transfiguration, Josef Rheinberger’s Abendlied, and Charles Villiers Stanfords’ Te Deum laudamus in B-flat Major.

In addition to celebrating Transfiguration’s 57th anniversary, the evensong will be the occasion at which the church’s AEolian-Skinner/Robeert L. Sipe organ – currently located in the South Transept – will be dedicated to the memory of Howard E. Ross, who served as the parish’s first Director of Music and Organist from 1964 through 2003. Former Rector, The Rev’d Terence C. Roper will be the preacher for the service.

Childcare is provided and a reception will follow in the Gathering Space.
