The Holy Eucharist

Holy Week begins amidst palms. All four gospels depict Jesus entering Jerusalem atop a humble donkey as the crowds cried “Hosanna (save us),” and our liturgy follows their example with a festive procession from the bell tower garden into the church. The mood of the service quickly shifts as we hear the story of Jesus’ passion and death. The tension between “Hosanna” and “Crucify him” marks this holy beginning to the holiest of weeks, when we walk the way of the cross and find it none other than the way of life and peace.
