On Sunday, March 3 you’re invited to join in Peace Post, a ministry of the Episcopal Peace Fellowship, to write to elected officials as part of our baptismal promise to “strive for justice and peace among all people.” From 10:00 until 2:00, we’ll be gathered, talking and writing together in the lobby of the church office. This week we’ll pay particular attention to:
- US Humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, which has been cut off since Congress passed the Anti-Terrorism Clarification Act of 2018,
- Continuing support of the United Nations REED program, which has been shown efficient and effective in reducing tropical deforestation, and
- A proposed waiver rule change to SNAP, which would result in the loss of food benefits to 775,000 people, and is now briefly open for public comment.
