On Sunday, April 28, all are invited to join in Peace Post, during which we write short notes to our elected officials as part of our baptismal promise to “strive for justice and peace among all people.” Join them any time from 10:00 until 2:00 in the lobby of the church office. Suggested topics for this month are:
- the food insecurity of 1.5 million Haitians in the wake of Hurricane Matthew (which struck six months ago)
- the Equality Act (H.R. 788), which would ban discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity
- Texas HB 342, designed to prevent the removal of families from Medicaid without having been given any notice
