Vestry & Diocesan Convention Delegate Applications

Click the appropriate button to complete the application form online. Doing so will submit your complete form to the Nominating Committee for review. It will also send a copy of your full form to your email for your records. You may choose the Save & Continue option at the end of the form to pause and return to the form. This option will send you an email with a link allowing you to return to complete the form at a later time or on a different device.

Nominees for Vestry must satisfy the following criteria per policy:

  1. Minimum age of 18 years
  2. Confirmed member in good standing (regular attendance & financial support of the Fig through pledging for at least one year prior to nomination
  3. Not served on the Vestry of this Parish unless one full year has elapsed since service.
  4. Demonstrated commitment, responsibility and experience in Parish life
  5. Able to pass the Diocesan criminal background check
  6. Employees, their family members and clergy family members are ineligible for election to the vestry.
  7. No more than one person from a family may serve on the vestry at the same time.

Here's what you need to know as a 2027 Convention Delegate

Qualifications:

  • Convention Delegates may serve a maximum of five consecutive terms. Further election as a Convention Delegate will require sitting out two election cycles.

When?

Planning is still underway but the convention will in the Fall of 2027.

Those receiving the top 6 voters the election in November will become the delegates, with the rest becoming alternates.

NOTE: Several alternates do end up attending the convention so if you are an alternate, please keep those dates open.

Time commitment:

Day of the Convention | 8:30am-4:30pm (breakfast and lunch are provided)

Month Prior to Convention | 2-hour pre-convention meeting with the clergy to discuss topics and go over delegate procedures.
