The Saints of Advent: Patient & Brave & True | 10:15-11:00am in Roper Hall
Around the world, Christians prepare for the birth of Christ in all sorts of wonderful ways, and many Advent and Christmas traditions also include special observances of the lives of the saints. Such holy days are deeply embedded in popular cultures and have become entangled with this season’s focus on the Incarnation. In this six-week class, we will learn about several of these saints and reflect on how their observances can prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ at Christmas.
The Way | in the Parlor
Will resume in Epiphany
The Way is Transfiguration’s deep dive into the beliefs and practices of the Episcopal Church. Over 20 Sundays, from September until April, our three priests and numerous other wise parishioners will guide participants through topics like the nature of God, what is sin, how we are “saved,” and how to be a disciple. If you are considering Baptism or Confirmation, this is the class for you!
Due to the nature of The Way, participants are encouraged to commit to the full year, and most sessions will run until 11:15am.
Figs With Kids Bible Study | Classroom S-202
If you’re a parent with children living at home, and you’ve already participated in The Way, join Figs with Kids for a bible study and reflection on this week’s Gospel reading. This class will meet in Room S202 during Sunday school from now through the end of October.
