Adult Formation Easter 2024

Grow in the Easter Season

As we move into the Season of Easter we have three great opportunities for Adult Spiritual Growth ranging from wisdom from monastic religious concepts, to healing the divide caused by social and political polarization, to inspiration in the illuminated visions of the Resurrection in The Saint John’s Bible. Ignatian Spirituality | see monitors class location
Instructor: Joseph Palacios & Fr. Ted

For centuries, Christians have looked to the writings and teachings of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus, for guidance on becoming closer to God. This class will explore his Spiritual Exercises and their underlying principles, including the belief that all parts of the created order can lead one to God. If you are looking for ways to draw closer to God and become more aware of how you fit in God’s creation, this class is for you. It will be led by Joseph Palacios and Fr. Ted.

Braver Angels | see monitors class location
Instructor: Fr. Casey

Join Fr. Casey this Easter as he explores how we can practice the holy art of curiosity to build bridges across our political and social divides. Too often we avoid hard conversations, or people who differ from us. By drawing on our faith, the witness of our risen Lord, and some excellent practical wisdom from the book I Never Thought of It That Way, we can do more talking with people, and heal some of our most bitter divisions.

Visions of Resurrection in The Saint John’s Bible | see monitors class location
Instructor: Mtr. Rebecca

Illuminations of resurrection abound throughout the seven volumes of The Saint John’s Bible. From depictions of God’s promise in earlier volumes to the glorious heavenly city at the end of ‘Letters & Revelation’, the artists depicted God’s promise of new life in many different ways. This Eastertide, you are invited to join Mtr. Rebecca in probing the depths of these images in this series of Bible Study and spiritual reflection.
