Transfiguration parishioners Dawn and Sharon Easter’s home was catastrophically damaged in the storm last week. They and their twin sons were unharmed, but like many whose homes were destroyed, they are struggling to recover. Meanwhile, the sister of new parishioners Jenna and Rob Polivka’s home was also badly damaged, and they are similarly struggling with the recovery. Your compassion is encouraged to help all these disaster victims, and here are several suggestions:
- Donate gift cards for living supplies (Target or Walmart, hardware stores, grocery stores) or generic gift cards (Visa, MasterCard, etc.)
- Donate to the Transfiguration Discretionary Fund, which allows the clergy to respond to immediate needs
- Donate to the Easter family’s GoFundMe campaign
- Donate to the Red Cross
- Donate clothing or other gently used supplies to the Salvation Army in one of the affected cities.
You may drop gift cards off at the Church Office (open until noon today, closed January 1) or bring them to church this weekend.
