We started coming to Transfiguration in the Fall of 2010. We were both avid church goers growing up. Admittedly, this practice didn’t continue through our college years or the early years of our marriage as we had trouble finding a church that compelled us to regularly attend. However, both of us felt strongly that we needed to raise our kids with church being a very important part of our lives. We were lucky enough to stumble upon Transfiguration after a friend of ours recommended we try it out. Upon our first visit to Transfiguration, we felt a sense of belonging and inspiration that neither of us had experienced before and knew we had found our church home.

We enjoy the sense of community we feel as soon as we walk through the front doors, are inspired by the beautiful worship each week, and love how comfortable our kids are while on campus. During the brief time we spend at Transfiguration each week, we are able to slow our minds down and connect with God, and reflect upon what we are doing right in our day to day lives, and what we need to work on to become closer to God. Transfiguration inspires us to be better people to those we interact with on a regular basis, and it also gives our family an avenue to help provide support for the less fortunate members of our community.

We believe Transfiguration is a very special place, both for what it provides to its members in the form of personal growth and inspiration, and the impact it has in the community. I know that sometimes we take for granted the time and effort it takes by countless individuals to make Transfiguration the exceptional place that it is. Week in and week out, we are treated to amazing worship services by a clergy and music staff that hold themselves to very high standards and take immense pride in their craft. Our program staff ensures that not only do our children have engaging classes every week, but that all adult members also have stimulating programs that foster personal growth. We have an operations staff that ensures our campus is beautiful, safe and functional, and finally, an administrative staff that ensures everything goes smoothly during the week and that our financial house is in order. Needless to say, it takes a lot of individuals to make Transfiguration the place that it is. It also requires that we, as members, recognize the importance of supporting our church financially, so that we can have a great staff and great facilities for us to carry out our mission to seek and serve Christ in all persons.

To be honest, before Transfiguration we did not contribute financially to churches we frequented, at least not to a degree to which impacted our personal budgeting. However, with Transfiguration, we feel compelled to give an amount which does influence the way we live the rest of our life. While we may only spend a couple hours on campus each week, they are some of the most important and fulfilling hours for us personally. We came to recognize rather quickly the great benefit we were receiving from Transfiguration through a greater connection with God, a great community of fellow members, and an amazing environment for our children to grow up in.

If we, as members, don’t support the church financially, we risk losing these things about Transfiguration we have come to cherish. We also will lose the ability to positively impact the less fortunate members of our community which dearly need our help. There is so much work to be done outside of the walls of our church, and so many opportunities to help out if we had more financial resources. So, in conclusion, we would encourage all members to give an amount to Transfiguration that will impact the way you live the rest of your life. We have found that it is a virtuous circle that will encourage you to explore all that Transfiguration has to offer to you personally, and you will not be disappointed.
