This weekend begins our fall Stewardship season during which we consider how we are part of God’s kingdom and how we can use our gifts, both spiritual and financial to contribute to it. Our theme, “Many Members, One Body”  invites us to consider the words of St. Paul in 1 Corinthians 12:12, “For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.” Please visit the tables in the Gathering Space before or after worship on this weekend to pick up your unique packet.

At each weekend Eucharist through October 23, we will hear from members of Transfiguration  about how they fit into the Body of Christ. We will also use portions of 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 as our Second Lesson  each week, to build on our communal reflection on this text. Throughout the campaign we will construct a symbol of the Body of Christ together  in the Gathering Space that will demonstrate how the Body is incomplete without each member.

Mark your calendars for the final Sunday of the campaign, October 23, for our Ingathering Celebration. We’ll share a parish breakfast at 9:00 a.m. , then worship together in a single service at 10:00. The morning will conclude with a big, parish-wide mission effort coordinated by the Outreach Committee . Our One Body will go to work together in order to serve and bless others.
