Dear Fig friends,

I am pleased to announce the hire of Allison Blalock as our next Director of Children’s Ministries. She will succeed Cindy Hauser, who is retiring this September. Allison is a life-long Episcopalian and the daughter of a retired Episcopal priest. She comes to The Fig with a degree in elementary education and a lifetime of experience in forming and educating children. Most recently, Allison served as Program Director for the Child Development Center at First United Methodist Church in Richardson. She impressed me and Mother Rebecca with her skills, attitude, and faith, and we are excited to see her serve and lead our thriving children’s ministry. Allison and her husband, Greg, have two children, Drew (23) and Anne Claire (20). Allison’s first day will be August 8, which will allow her to overlap with Cindy for a month before Cindy’s final day on September 7. I hope you will pray for Allison, Cindy, and all the children and families who participate in our children’s ministry.

The Rev. Casey Shobe

Dear Transfiguration Family,

I am excited for this opportunity to serve among you at Transfiguration. I am passionate about formation and have dedicated my life to working with and educating children. I love to play and get messy. I love Sunday morning classes, VBS, Christmas pageants, children’s chapel, and teaching children about God’s love. I’m high energy and hands-on. I look forward to beginning ministry at Transfiguration later this summer and to meeting all of you – parents, teachers, ministry volunteers, and especially your sweet kiddos!
