For 60 years Church of the Transfiguration has offered believers and seekers a community in which to experience God in north Dallas. The neighborhood has grown and changed over the years, and so has our church, but through it all the people of The Fig have maintained our faith in the truth and power of God’s love, as expressed most perfectly in the person of Jesus of Nazareth. It is at the heart of who we are. It shapes us and defines us. We are all, every single last one of us, created by that love, recipients of that love, and called to share that love with the rest of the world.
If you spend much time at Transfiguration, you will meet a lot of really incredible people. We are rich and we are poor. We are old and we are young. We are gay and we are straight. We are lifelong Christians and we are just finding our spiritual footing. We are all sorts of things, which feels right, because that’s what the world is like. So there is room for you. There is a place for you, whoever you are, however you are, wherever you are. We aren’t perfect, so you shouldn’t feel the need to be, either. But if you’re hungry to know God and the sacrificial, life-changing, loving way of his Son, Jesus, we would love to share the journey with you.
