To keep on seeking and serving Christ in all the beautiful ways we do, we need your support.

Jesus teaches that if you want to know where someone’s heart is, just look at where they put their money.

Transfiguration is home to more than 50 unique ministries. Every week, people gather at the Fig to pray, make music, feed the hungry, study Scripture, receive pastoral care, form friendships, and deepen their faith. God is encountered and the Kingdom is grown each and every day.

Offering all those ministries takes resources. Priests and administrators, sextons and musicians. Not to mention air conditioning.

Every year it costs a bit more to offer all the ministries we love. Due to all the same factors that affect us individually, in the last two years our expenses have grown by more than 10%, even as giving has remained level.

The above graph is a 2023 breakout of estimated costs associated with the mission and ministries of Transfiguration. Categories include each group’s salaries, facilities, administrative costs, and ancillary fees.

We’ve depended on alternative funding sources like restricted accounts to keep up with rapidly growing expenses. It got us through leaner years, but it is not sustainable. Next year, we will build our budget around pledges. To maintain our staff, we will need to grow our giving.

The Church has long taught a standard of faithful giving. It’s called the tithe, or 10% of our income. Transfiguration invites everyone to this faithful standard of giving, because we remember Jesus’ teaching that where our treasure is, there our heart will be also.
