HOLY MATRIMONY
The sacrament of Holy Matrimony is offered to couples, one of whom must be a baptized member in good standing of the parish (active in worship for 6 months prior to request). A personal interview with the Rector is necessary before a date is entered on the calendar or other plans may progress for any wedding. In addition to the counsel of the clergy, couples are referred to professional counselors who assist in the appropriate preparation for marriage. A minimum notice of 60 days (90 days for divorced persons) is required to set a wedding date. It is advisable to contact the church six to nine months in advance of your desired wedding date. Diocesan guidelines state that weddings are not performed during Lent or Advent.
