OPEN DOOR, AN LGBTQ+ FELLOWSHIP
The mission of Open Door is to seek and serve Christ in all persons by embracing the LGBTQ+ community, their families, and their friends through opportunities for spiritual growth, fellowship, and service.
Open Door may be best known for the fun events held on a monthly basis. We come together in the homes of our members and at various venues across Dallas.
We aren’t just a social club. Open Door members are actively involved in every aspect of church life and ministry at a fully welcoming and affirming parish. Through worship, prayer, and study, Open Door members have abundant opportunities to grow spiritually in Christ.
Open Door participates in service to the community. Our primary outreach is to Youth First, a subsidiary of Resource Center Dallas focused on serving Dallas’ LGBTQ+ youth, ages 18 and younger. Contact us for more info about upcoming outreach opportunities!
We consider all members of Transfiguration’s LGBTQ+ community as well as our friends in the congregation, to be members of Open Door. Additionally, some of our members come from sister churches without welcoming groups of their own. Open Door has three co-coordinators who serve staggered three-year terms and the current leadership team consists of Mark Ramsay, Bradley Ferst, and Greg Dill.
