Vestry Resolution

Episcopal Church Be it resolved, that we reaffirm the historic associations of The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, Dallas, Texas with The Episcopal Church in the United States of America, and the Diocese of Dallas as long as the Diocese remains consistent with and in communion with The Episcopal Church in the United States of America. Furthermore, we pledge ourselves on behalf of our brothers and sisters in this congregation to do our prayerful and solemn best to maintain this association inviolate.

The Vestry of the Church of the Transfiguration meeting on April 18, 2005, affirmed the historic association of their parish with The Episcopal Church USA. The 2006 Vestry affirmed the resolution by asking that it be placed on the parish website. The supporting text for the resolution may be found in Parish Life.
    UPCOMING EVENTS

Summer Adult Education
Each Sunday through July 26

A new summer Adult Education offering – EPISCOPALIAN SAINTS. Learn about Episcopalians in the Church’s calendar of the Saints. Michael Merriman leads this class, which meets from Sunday, June 28 through Sunday, July 26 at 10:15 a.m. Newcomers and visitors are welcomed.

Women's Book Group
Thurs., July 2

Our next meeting will be on Thursday, July 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the Parlor to discuss Robert Reich’s Supercapitalism: The Transformation of Business, Democracy and Everyday Life (2006). Reich offers thought-provoking questions as he explores benefits and challenges from mid-twentieth-century capitalism’s transformation to “supercapitalism” on a global scale. Very much still relevant, Reich’s clear thinking and lively writing won’t require an MBA to have fun with this discussion of economics and society. All women are welcomed. Please come and bring a friend.

Holiday Closing
Fri., July 3

The Parish office will be closed on Friday, July 3 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

iParent - playdate

Join us after the 9 a.m. service on Sun., July 12 at the Central Market in Plano (Coit and George Bush Turnpike) for a lunch playdate! Cookie Bakers Needed

Twice a month, Transfiguration teams bring meals of hot dogs or balogna sandwiches to the Austin Street Centre, along with much-appreciated home-baked brownies and cookies. During the summer, volunteer bakers are fewer. Can you help by baking for one or more of the following dates: 7/15, 7/20, 8/17 or 8/19? This might make a nice service project for kids, teens, friends, etc. Contact Valerie Jarvie.
