If you need some holy space in which to process the trial and conviction of Amber Guyger, you’re invited to attend this week’s Wednesday service of Holy Eucharist at 6 p.m. Bishop Wayne Smith has assisted Fr. Casey and Mtr. Rebecca in crafting prayers, the readings will be specially selected, and Joel Martinson will lead the singing of carefully chosen hymns.
We will pray for the repose of the soul Botham Jean and for the Jean family; for Ms. Guyger, whose conscience bears this crime; for our courts, and all who make decisions of consequence; for law enforcement, who work under profound stress to defend and protect our city; for those who are afraid of law enforcement, for fear of their safety; and for our nation, that we may live more and more into the founding ideals of liberty and justice for all.
