Fig Food DriveDid you know: if you draw a circle with a radius of two miles around Transfiguration, that circle will include between 5,000 and 9,000 people who are food-insecure. To make matters worse, on November 1, food stamp benefits were cut by 5% nationwide. In Texas, that means nearly 4,000,000 people will be affected, including 2,360,000 children and 672,000 disabled and elderly. Thanks to the generosity of Transfiguration members, hundreds of grocery bags of food filled the gathering space last weekend! The food collected will be delivered to the North Dallas Shared Ministries to help feed the hungry in our own backyard.
