The Children and Family Formation Team is seeking an individual to lead, coordinate, and renew the current Children’s Chapel Service during the 9:00 and the 11:15 a.m. Sunday services.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the formation staff in creating a rich and meaningful experience for children and clergy during the Children’s Chapel services.
  • Choosing a curriculum that creates an overarching theme that builds week upon week based on the seasons of the Episcopal Church.
  • Keeping elements that are faithful to the Episcopal liturgy and traditions.
  • Creating a positive, multi-sensory experience that is conducive to formation growth.
  • The ability to work well with others and displaying adaptability with space and schedules.
  • Being prepared with resources each Sunday as well using time mid-week to prepare in advance.
  • Having availability to gather with the Formation team on a monthly or quarterly basis for planning and check-in.

Compensation:

  • $20 per hour
  • Hours- Approximately 6 hours a week: Sundays 8:30-12:30 and 2 hours mid-week.

Qualifications:

  • Experience creating, leading and implementing new programs in a worship or classroom environment.
  • Prior teaching experience with young children preschool-third grade in a classroom or worship environment.
  • Safe Church trained.
  • Knowledgeable and comfortable with the Episcopal traditions, liturgy and lectionary year.

Desired but not required:

  • Ability to share and accompany Children’s Chapel playing an instrument. A desire to incorporate quality children’s music into the Sunday morning experience.
