Service
We stand to say our prayers and sing praises to God. We sit for instruction and kneel to confess our sins and for personal devotion. Although posture in worship is according to individual preference, many Episcopalians make the sign of the cross, bow, and observe other reverences, but they are not required of anyone. If, in time, you find you would like to add these to your worship practice, please do so.

Our worship bulletin includes the complete text of the service, including collects, psalms and Bible readings. The hymns listed in the bulletin can be found in the blue Hymnal 1982, and Wonder, Love, and Praise, A Supplement to the Hymnal 1982.

Children are always welcome in the church services at Transfiguration. Worship is one of the basic ways we learn what it means to be a Christian. As an adult we help create an atmosphere in which children can learn to worship in ways that are consistent with their respective levels of development. Please take a moment to read/print CHILDREN IN WORSHIP for helpful guidelines for both children, parents, and friends. Bringing children to worship may not always be easy, but it is an essential part of their growth in Christ.

Communion
All baptized Christians in good standing with their churches are welcome to receive communion. THE BREAD. We receive the bread with our right hand stretched in front of us over our left hand, lifting the bread into our mouth. THE WINE. You may gently guide the base of the communion cup to direct it to your lips and gently push it away when you have received the wine. If you do not wish to receive either, cross your arms in front of your chest to signal that you want a blessing instead.

The Daily Office
The Online Daily Office is a ministry of The Mission of St. Clare. The Mission's goal is to introduce prayer and meditation to people who have never experienced them, and to support people who enjoy the benefits of prayer and meditation but who find difficulty in putting aside time for this practice. It exists to give busy people a way to particpate in Morning and Evening Prayer including the readings and psalms for each day (along with a bit of music!). You will also find Noonday Prayer, Compline, and Devotions for Individuals and Families here. These rites are based on The Book of Common Prayer.
