The Women’s Book Group will meet in the Hospitality Room at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 4 to discuss The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd. Based on fact, and covering a span of 35 years, this novel speaks in the voices of wealthy Sarah Grimke, of Charleston, and her slave, Handful, who was given to Sarah on her eleventh birthday in 1803. The historic Sarah and her sister Angelina became involved early in the abolitionist and women’s rights movements. All women are welcomed.
